Updated Master Golfer Standings

Yesterday saw the 3rd event in the Master Golfer Series in the form of Appleby Golf Club's 36 hole scratch event.

In testing conditions Appleby GC's Club Captain Andrew Moncaster stormed to a 3 shot victory with outstanding rounds of 63+70 for a 133 total.

Leading Cumbria scores and point scorers for the Master Golfer were as follows:

A Moncaster (Appleby) 133

A Wolstencroft (Carlisle) 138

M Hand (Eden) 138

D Whitfield (Penrith) 139

N Bell (Eden) 139

R Thompson (Carlisle) 140

G Curry (Keswick) 141

A Sinclair (Penrith) 142

This resulted in Martin Hand taking over top spot on the Master Golfer standings after 3 of 9 events.

In the Junior category George Curry came out on top with a tremendous 141 total which closes the gap on Brad Quayle at the top of the Junior Standings.

The next event takes us to Ulverston Golf Club on Sunday 7th June with all still to play for.....
